Smittens began in 2013 as a small, women-run South African brand with a simple conviction: your cleanser may be loosening makeup, oil and sunscreen — but it isn't removing them. That's the job of a professional-grade microfibre mitten, and a little warm water.
More than a decade on, that idea still sits at the centre of everything we make — cleansing mittens that lift away makeup, oil, SPF and dead skin without another bottle of chemistry, so your serums land on skin that's genuinely clean, not just rinsed.

Smittens has been women-owned and women-run since day one — a rare thing in skincare, and something we're not shy about. In 2024 the brand passed into the hands of Bevinn King of Healthy Skin Solutions, who took over its stewardship and continues to run it with the same care and standards it started with.
We're a local business, making a product for real South African skin — sold through South African salons, spas and stockists we know by name. That matters to us, and if you're reading this, we suspect it matters to you too.
